I chose to walk the path
most tender, most beautiful of love,
I felt the greatness of what is true
and cast all fear from my life above.
I chose to love what’s vast and bright,
what sweetens life in every way,
embracing what burns with living light
and shows the admiral’s deep blue sway.
I sailed through paths and bold adventures,
through seas and waves that overflow,
amongst hearts raised high and cups of fortune,
dragging the pain I used to know.
I chose to love myself, not wait,
along uncertain roads I stood,
I held love close with hopeful faith,
and learned not to delay what’s good.
Now I am free, just like the wind,
I bind no hearts that only seem,
nor cage my soul in grief within,
and love has countless reasons to dream.
